Common Questions
Gee Tee General Engineering, located in Germiston, Gauteng, is one of South Africa's most established CNC machining companies. Operating since 1980, we provide CNC turning, CNC milling, EDM wire cutting, surface grinding and reverse engineering. We serve clients across the greater Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, and Gauteng regions. Call us on 082 925 8379.
We manufacture precision components for the mining, automotive, steel, packaging, and food processing industries. Our clients range from local South African businesses to multinational corporations. Whether you need machine parts for a mine shaft, automotive tooling, or food-grade stainless steel components, we have the capability and experience.
Absolutely. Reverse engineering is one of our core specialities. Our in-house designers use Edgecam and SolidWorks to precisely recreate components from physical samples or drawings — even when no original specifications exist. This is particularly valuable for legacy mining equipment, discontinued automotive parts and industrial machinery spares.
Yes. We offer complete prototype manufacturing services integrated with our in-house CAD/CAM design capabilities. Once your design is finalised in Edgecam or SolidWorks, we can produce functional prototypes for testing and refinement. We remain committed to your project until a successful design has been achieved.
We are located at 9 Viking Way, Airport Park Ext 4, Germiston, Gauteng. We are conveniently situated in the heart of Ekurhuleni's industrial corridor, close to OR Tambo International Airport, making us easily accessible to clients across the greater Johannesburg and Gauteng area. We achieve standard tolerances of ±0.01mm on CNC turning and milling, ±0.005mm on surface grinding, and ±0.005mm with Ra 0.2μm surface finish on EDM wire cutting. Tighter tolerances are available on request depending on material and geometry. Our CNC machines are regularly calibrated to maintain these standards.
We machine a wide range of materials: carbon steels (mild steel, EN8, EN19, EN24), stainless steels (304, 316, 316L, duplex), tool steels (D2, H13, M2, S7), aluminium alloys (6061, 7075, 2024), brass and copper, and engineering plastics (Nylon, Delrin, PEEK, UHMWPE). Our EDM wire cutter handles hardened materials up to 62 HRC.
Our manufacturing processes feature stringent quality control. Every component passes through rigorous inspection using calibrated measuring instruments. We provide full material traceability and certificates of conformance on request, ensuring your parts meet the highest engineering standards.
Our largest CNC milling envelope is 1400 × 700 × 600mm on the Doosan DNM6700 machining centre. The Agie Charmilles EDM wire cutter handles 600 × 400 × 350mm. Our CNC lathes offer a maximum turning capacity of 700mm in diameter and 2000mm in length for shafts, sleeves, and rotational components.
Yes. Our Agie Charmilles Cut E 600 EDM wire cutter can cut through hardened tool steels up to 62 HRC with intricate profiles and surface finishes down to Ra 0.2μm. This makes it ideal for die/punch tooling, wear-resistant inserts, and complex geometries that conventional machining cannot achieve.
